One person has been killed at cabinet minister’s home in Kiwanga village as a building he was finishing collapsed.
The deceased is only identified as Bashir a worker at minister Sam Cheptoris’ home.
Eyewitnesses said the deceased was finishing minister’s residential unfortunately the wall he was working on collapsed leaving him dead.
Another eye witness only identified as Mukasa said the deceased was almost finishing off his work and the wall collapsed.
Mukasa also said the builders used substandard materials while constructing minister’s house.
” The materials they used were substandard and were not even enough like the iron bars and cement,” Mukasa said.
The area L.CI chairperson Richard Kisiriivu confirmed the incident in his area and said it happened at around 1:00pm.
However at the time of the incident only the minister’s vehicle was at the scene and family members but refused to comment.
Kisiriivu blamed the engineers for failing to supervise and monitor their works leading to such accidents.
The body has been taken to Mulago hospital by Mukono police.
