Mukono municipality Member of Parliament Betty Nambooze Bakireke denies joining Pentecostal churches saying that she is still believes in holy Catholic Church.
Nambooze says that it’s true she got saved but in Charismatic which is under Catholic Church and St. Paul Catholic Church it’s still her only church of worship.
She explains that someone to get saved does not mean that he or she has to move away from the original religion but it’s by confession of one’s mouth and heart.
Nambooze argue that a true saved person is that one who confesses his or her sins by the word of mouth and accepts to walk and act in a Christian way which pleases God.
She narrates that being a catholic does not deter her from associating with people of other faith arguing that her doctor and personnel assistant her saved from Pentecostal churches and are working together.
According to her, says that its her habit as a leader every year to organize functions of various religious groups aimed at sharing religious thoughts.
Nambooze argued that as believers they should join hands and denounce the evil acts of embezzlement and miss use of public funds instead of wasting time on who is more holy than another.
Catholic Charismatic Renewal is a spiritual movement within the Catholic Church that incorporates aspects of both Catholic and charismatic practice. It places an emphasis on having a personal relationship with Jesus and expressing the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Parishes that practice charismatic worship usually hold prayer meetings outside of Mass and feature such gifts as prophecy, faith healing, and glossolalia. In Ann Arbor, Michigan, a Catholic church describes charismatic worship as “uplifted hands during songs and audible praying in tongues.” It further distinguishes a charismatic congregation as one that emphasises complete surrender to Jesus in all parts of life, obedience to both the Gospel and Catholic teaching, as well as Christ-centred friendships.
Perceptions of the Charismatic movement vary within the Catholic Church. Proponents hold the belief that certain charismata (a Greek word for “gifts”) are still bestowed by the Holy Spirit today as they were in Early Christianity as described in the Bible. Critics accuse Charismatic Catholics of misinterpreting, or in some cases violating, Church teachings on worship and liturgy.
Traditional Catholics, in particular, argue that charismatic practices shift the focus of worship away from reverent communion with Christ in the Eucharist and towards individual emotions and non-liturgical experiences as a substitute.
On the side of her war with President Museveni, she says that she is fronting two battles a physical one and a holy one.
She explains that a holy battle will be composed of holy prayer asking God to save the country from Museveni or at least to soften his heart and listen to voices of Ugandans who are asking to retire after serving the country for long time.
She vowed to return to parliament to continue with the battle of fighting life presidency of Museveni as its being planned by some greedy members of parliament.
