Fire gutted and destroyed a market in Mukono district during night which left traders in tears.
The market which gutted fire is known as Kame Valley market found in Mukono central division in Mukono municipality which destroyed merchandise worth millions of shillings.
Traders in Mukono district were left in tears after fire destroyed their market during Monday night.
This fire started at around 10:00pm when traders have locked their business and it started in one of the lock ups which belonged to a trader identified only as Nakalembe.
The part of the market that has been destroyed had various items ranging from electronics, clothes, shoes, old tyres among others.
Residents and traders rushed to the market to try to save some of the merchandises but they failed to succeed because of big flames of fire.
Some of the traders who were in tears, said that they had just stocked their businesses after getting loans from banks.
Mukono municipal mayor Fred George Kagimu said that they are going to try to see that they help some of the traders who have lost their merchandises in this fire.
However traders blamed fire brigade of not responding on item despite being located within Mukono town which could have saved fire from spreading to other parts of the market.
However Mukono Division police commander Boniface Kinyera refused to give a comment.
