It is crystal clear that NRM was built on the foundation of peace and reconciliation hence take Uganda to the next generation and whoever feels that cannot embrace these principles should quit the party.
Justice and Constitutional Affairs Minister, Gen. Kahinda Otafiire reminding and cautioning members of the ruling NRM party who do not want to reconcile with their colleagues they have misunderstandings with more so in Bugerere Kayunga district to quit it.
Gen. Otafiire made the remarks during the end of year party for NRM leaders and supporters in Bugerere Kayunga district that was held at the district headquarters in Ntenjeru.
He revealed that it’s human to have conflicts amongst members in any organizations but they can be resolved through dialogue and reconciliation.
“If there is any NRM member in Bugerere Kayunga who does not want to dialogue and reconcile with the other, it is better you quit the party and where applicable join the opposition,” Otafiire noted adding on that conflicts are normal in any organization but they should be resolved in a cultured
I therefore encourage all the party members in this district who are not in good terms with the current district party leadership to come back and settle the differences with the leaders amicably and those who do not want to do that should find a better way out from the party,” Otafiire advised as members who attended the party yelled in support of the idea.
Gen. Otafiire said that any member who is not willing to dialogue and reconcile with colleagues does not want to build the party but rather fail it, we want to see unity amongst the party members.
He asked leaders to serve the people they lead by example, addressing challenges they face noting that being in leadership does not mean to eat as most of leaders think.
Meanwhile, Kayunga Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Rose Birungi revealed that NRM party is still strong in the district saying those who turn away from it were just impostors with ill intentions of getting monies from the party and see the it lose support in the area.
At the same occasion, Kayunga District NRM Chairperson, Moses Kalangwa Kaliisa asked the government to tarmac the Kayunga – Bbaale – Galiraya road (estimated at 98kms from Kayunga to Galiraya) saying if worked on, the road will make better the economic activities in the area.
He also reminded government that Kayunga town council fits to be elevated
to a municipality status.
In the events of history, Kalangwa’s leadership is progressively been challenged by the State Minister for ICT and also the District Woman legislators, Aidah Erios Nantaba whom he defeated in the recent NRM
primaries elections which Nantaba said were completely corrugated and since then.
Nantaba has teared up the party taking a cross section of supporters and funs to her side to fight the District NRM leadership at all levels calling it illegitimate and this has left Bugerere Kayunga District in a mess including retarded development and disunity amongst the residents simply because of politics.
This has also sparkled off a number of land wrangles in Bugerere Kayunga District where allegedly Nantaba accuses Kalangwa for illegally buying and evicting the masses from their lands using the
monies she claims Kalangwa gets from unknown sources thus leaving the masses in a dilemma to decide who is wrong and right, fighting for their rights and there for them, but reliable sources say the two
giants are fighting for recognition and cheap popularity from the fountain of honor His Excellence the President of the Republic of Uganda.
