Opposition politicians stormed Naggalama police station found in Nabbale Sub County Mukono district to see that Dr. Kizza Besigye and other leaders are being released from police custody.
There struggle has been led by FDC party president Gen. Mugisha Muntu and Lord mayor Erias Lukwago but it yielded no positive results.
Several road blocks were mounted along Kampala – Kayunga road which leads to Naggalama police division where Dr. Kizza Besigye, Ingrid Tulunawe and others are under detention since last week.
The first politician to be interrupted on these road blocks was Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago who was forced out of his car and it was thorough checked and afterwards was allowed to proceed to Naggalama police station.
Lukwago was followed by Mugisha Muntu who both at Naggalama and were allowed to enter police station to check on Besigye and other Politicians.
Lukwago said, they are going to petition court to see that it forces police to produce Besigye and his group to court or to be released.
Muntu says that he has suspended his campaigns until the struggle of fighting against constitution amendment is over.
Some councillors led by Muhammad Segirinya have vowed to camp at Naggalama police station until opposition leaders in police custody are released.
Several youths have also camped at Naggalama police station while shouting release Dr. Besigye plus singing slogan of FDC.
Besigye and three others were arrested in Rukungiri on Thursday last week and were driven to Naggalama police in Mukono district where they are being kept in police custody.
